|AU summit in Malabo to kick off on 23 June|

APA Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) The African Union (AU) Commission announced on Wednesday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia that the 17th Ordinary Session of the Summit of the African Union to be held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea will kick off on 23 June under theme “Accelerating Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Development.”
The 16th summit in January in Addis Ababa decided that the next summit will be held in that country.
Accordingly, the 17th Ordinary Session of the Summit of the African Union Commission will be held in Malabo from 23 June to 1st July 2011.
Dozens of African leaders are expected to attend the Malabo summit where various political and administrative issues of the AU Commission will be discussed.
According to the scheduled program, the 22nd Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) will be held on 23-24 June.
The 19th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council will be from 26 to 28 June.
The 17th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union itself will be held from 30 June to 1st July.
